  • Mount Martha Public Golf Course Strategic Review

    Mornington Peninsula Shire Council has engaged @leisure Planners in partnership with Wellplayed to prepare a strategic plan for the Mount Martha Public Golf Course (MMPGC).  
    The project will review the operation of the golf course, including its use, management, performance and position concerning other golf courses and open spaces in the Shire. 

    The plan will prepare a “State of Play” report about its management and performance as a golf course and as a regional open space. “Issues and Options” discussion will follow, assessing the future development opportunities and desirable facilities, and a long term plan for the site - in line with the Council’s vision, plans and relevant legislation.
    We will work with the community and key stakeholders to develop the vision and plan.

    @leisure is seeking input from the community and stakeholders. We would like to know:

    • What do you value about the open space and the golf course at 275 Forest Drive, Mount Martha?
    • How could the golf course, the service its offers and the open space generally be improved?
    • What are the issues, challenges and opportunities that the strategic plan needs to address?
    • Thinking about future generations, what is your vision for this site?

    The recently completed Issues and Options Paper is currently being reviewed by Council Officers and will inform the next phase of the project being the concept plan and business case.

    Work continues on the consideration of wide ranging options. Currently we are quantifying key components of each option to establish a suitable shortlist.

    Thank you to everyone who submitted comments, emails and completed a survey. We really appreciate these contributions. We received a wide range of information and different views.

    The summary has been completed and submitted to the Mornington Peninsula Shire.

    Project update - November 2020

    A state of play or situational analysis report was submitted for the Council's consideration.  This report looked at the site as an open space, its history and context and the current golf course operation.
