Stawell Sports and Aquatic Centre Redevelopment: Feasibility

Stawell
  • The Project

Northern Grampians Shire Council have engaged @leisure Planners to conduct a detailed review of the Stawell Sports and Aquatic Centre (SSAC) with a view to a future redevelopment that meets the needs of users and encourages more sport and active recreation.

The project will identify and prioritise what  needs to be done to keep the SSAC operational and safe and potentially bring it back to the forefront of regional Victoria’s sport and recreation facilities.

The project will conclude with a 10 Year Business Plan, a design concept and the estimated probable cost of redevelopment by a quantity surveyor.

The project will enable Council to make informed, evidence based decisions on the redevelopment of the SSAC.

Community and stakeholder consultation has begun and aims to identify current and future sport and recreation trends withing the local community, assess the top priorities and identify redevelopment options.

Following the community engagement process, a feasiblity analysis of the suggested components will be undertaken, including a market analysis, concept design and estimated capital costs.

A draft study will be released for public review and feedback and then put to Council for endorsement.
